Stereophile's Triton Two Raves: Another Jewel in the Crown - Robert Deutsch

Triton-TwoTower_audiovisionindia.jpgAs we all know, Stereophile is one of the most critical of all the magazines in terms of their reviews.  Last year, when Robert Deutsch approached Sandy Gross for a review after auditioning the Tritons at the CES Show, he nervously agreed.  Well, he loved them at the show and he loved them when he listened to them at his home. His rave review, which has just hit in the February Stereophile, is fantastic to say the least.

He raved about the Tritons and said that he would not be surprised if they cost $10,000 a pair (actually he said $15,000 when he heard the speakers at CES, maybe he wanted to be a little more conservative in print).  Robert goes through the Triton's many sonic virtues in great detail.  Robert normally listens to a very high-end system with speakers that currently retail for $20,000 a pair. In Robert's words,

"The fact is, I was quite content to listen to the Tritons. In my high-end system, whose speaker cables cost more than the GoldenEars, there was no indication that the speakers were a weak link in the chain. I was in no hurry to switch back to my Avantgardes."

Strong praise indeed!
